Today is an exciting day for us as we take the big step with our partnerships and welcome Red Bull to the #G2ARMY! It is an honour for us to extend our partnership beyond our joint-venture with Red Bull Racing and to sign a multi-year partnership that will see us collaborating to entertain, excite, and create incredible content for fans across the world!
While our partnership officially begins today, our connection with Red Bull is anything but new. From memes to full blown April Fools campaigns, they have played an important part in our story-telling and with this partnership, we will create even greater stories together. This weekend, as our teams take the big step on stage across the globe, they will proudly showcase the Red Bull logo on their jerseys. Furthermore, we will also be celebrating with on-site activations at the LEC Finals in Athens, at the O.A.C.A. Olympic Indoor Hall, and in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin. Be sure to stop by our booths throughout this weekend to see our new jersey yourself and to join in on some of our fun activities, including 1v1s, team meet and greets, and more!
Discussing the partnership, our G2 Esports CEO Carlos ‘ocelote’ Rodriguez said,
“Red Bull and G2 have a shared vision of bringing more entertainment and adventure to the esports industry through interactive content and event activations, so a partnership was an obvious and important move for us. This holistic partnership is a big step for G2 and the content that we have coming down the pipeline is going to set this collaboration apart from all others in the space.”
G2 Partnership Executive Sabrina Ratih also added,
“The Red Bull and G2 partnership is truly a bottom-up collaboration that stemmed from countless memes, fan engagement and player interaction with the global energy brand and eventually evolved into a unique brand bond and the multi-faceted partnership you see today. This is a testament to the influence of social communities and the power of memes that become a reality and move the esports industry forward.”
We already have plenty of exciting things lined up in the very near future and this weekend is certainly one to tune in for. Be sure to follow our #TheBigStep campaign on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook for the memes and moments from across the globe. You can also catch our Rainbow Six Siege and Rocket League team take the stages at DreamHack Montréal (Friday through Sunday), our PUBG team continue their campaign in the PUBG Europe League in Berlin (Friday through Sunday), and, of course, our League of Legends team take to the stage in Athens to contend for their second LEC title this Sunday!
