A Top Weekend for G2 Rocket League and CS:GO

A Top Weekend for G2 Rocket League and CS:GO

This past weekend, we saw both our CS:GO team and Rocket League Team match up against the best in the world and take their place among the top!

In Montpelier, France, our CS:GO team took on the HLTV Ranked #1 Team Liquid in the Finals of the ESL Pro League, after beating out FaZe and NRG in the quarter- and semi-finals respectively. In the finals, we had a narrow overtime loss on Dust 2, but quickly followed up on Nuke, even bringing Liquid to double-overtime on Inferno in front of the roaring French crowd. Unfortunately, it just wasn’t to be, but ending the event with a silver medal was a statement to the world: G2 Counter-Strike is back. The action didn’t just happen in game however, as our booth at Montpelier was a resounding success! Fans were able to spin our Wheel of Fortune, play some 1v1’s and meet-n-greet the team at signing sessions all weekend! If you’re wondering what went on behind the scenes, then make sure to check out the vlogs by the boys (with English subs!)

Our Rocket League team started off the groups in dominant fashion as we beat out the European favourites, Renault Vitality, and OCE hopefuls, Ground Zero Gaming, to top our group. With a strong playoffs run against PSG Esports and a clean sweep of Rogue, the boys found themselves in a group stage rematch against Renault Vitality for their chance at the trophy. However, it ended with Renault Vitality taking the match, with two nailbiter overtime games to finish up the series. Want a sneak peek into what was going on while the guys weren’t scoring goals and hitting aerials? Then check out their vlog series!

We couldn’t be prouder of our Rocket League and CS:GO boys for their incredible performances. Looking forward, our Counter Strike team looks to build on their performance in Montpelier as they attend IEM Chicago from July 19th to 21st and our Rocket League team will look to keep on rising as they battle at Dreamhack Valencia from July 5th to 7th.

Be sure to cheer on the boys and don’t miss a second of the action by following us on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
