After signing Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kovač to the team in October, we announced that we would be alternating our starting roster for the remainder of the year to properly assess all our options and create the best iteration possible for G2.
After playing with two different versions of the roster, changing between François ‘AmaNEk’ Delaunay at BLAST Premier Fall Series 2020 and DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 and JACKZ at IEM Beijing-Haidian 2020 Europe, we have reached the difficult decision. Effective immediately, Audric ‘JACKZ’ Jug will be moved to the bench and our starting roster will be Nemanja ‘huNter-’ Kovač, François ‘AmaNEk’ Delaunay, Nemanja ‘nexa’ Isaković, Kenny ‘kennyS’ Schrub, and Nikola ‘NiKo Kovač.
Having played with us for over 2 years, JACKZ has distinguished himself as one of the top players in CS:GO. With 2 Major appearances, several Grand Final appearances, and victories at GGL 2019 and Champions Cup Finals, Audric has played an integral role in returning G2 to the top of CS:GO. He is an incredible competitor and we are proud to have him as part of the #G2ARMY.
Speaking about the decision, team manager Jérôme ‘NiaK’ Sudries said:
When NiKo arrived, we made it clear that our goal was not to explore a six-man roster. We had six players with different profiles and qualities, so our goal was to determine which combination would work best on the field. It's all about balance and synergy, and even if we can anticipate certain things, the server is always the best judge. Our test focused on JACKZ and AMANEK, and we quickly realised that our system benefited more from François' qualities.
So it is with a heavy heart that we decided to remove JACKZ from the active roster, and allow him to explore his options for 2021. Audric is a truly passionate and committed player who has proven to have the qualities to perform at the highest level. I would like to thank him for his genuine and unfailing dedication over the past two years, and I have no doubt that he will contribute to the success of his future team.”
While JACKZ is still under contract, we are allowing him to explore his options - those interested can reach out to NiaK or Head of Esports, Danny Engels.
We’d like to thank everyone for their continued support and of course, JACKZ for his incredible play and work these past two years. See you in the server again soon.
