Intro:                 

G2 is looking for a Head of Media to lead our internal Media department and take ownership of bringing G2 content, entertainment, and banter to the masses. In this role, you’ll be responsible for taking our renowned social media and brand to the next level, ensuring our content and communications are fresh, relevant, and reaching as many fans as possible. You’ll have full ownership of our media strategy and will be expected to lead and develop our channel and content distribution strategies to bring us beyond esports and to the wider gaming and entertainment audience.  This is a full time and permanent position based in our headquarters in Berlin who will directly report to our General Manager, until our Marketing Director is recruited. 


Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leadership, management and organization of the media department, overseeing the Social Media, China Social Media, Content Management, and Paid Media teams.
  • Setting the Social Media and Content Distribution strategies for global, new markets and Chinese operations for owned, earned, and paid media. 
  • Taking full ownership of Media budget planning and spend, including paid media. 
  • Ensure full integration of the G2 brand and tone of voice across all media channels and campaigns. 
  • Forecasting and setting KPIs and Goals for channels, marketing campaigns and initiatives, including Heads of Terms for partnerships, and your teams.
  • Monitor and track trends and developments in the space to ensure G2 is ahead of the curve in platforms and content programming.

 

Requirements:

  • BSc in Marketing, Business Administration, or a relevant field.
  • Proven 5 years of work experience in the Social Media or Content Management field as a Media Lead, Media Planner or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of global media platforms, including social media, livestreaming, and VOD and how to leverage each platform for organic growth. A working knowledge of Chinese platforms is desired, but not required.
  • Proven track record developing and executing media strategies to reach and engage audience segments through a targeted approach. 
  • Experience building cross-functional strategies that are multi-channel and multi-platform. 
  • Excellent organization and administration skills.
  • Excellent planning skills with experience of working in a fast paced environment.
  • Native English speaker (Additional language skills are a plus, especially German).
  • Esports experience is highly desired, but not required.
